Do you ever find yourself dominated by relentless thoughts that you’re not good enough, that you don’t deserve much, and that other people look down on you or tolerate you out of politeness? Do you find yourself replaying memories of things you did wrong, or relationships that you didn’t get right? Do you feel that you have to be a success in life like others seem to be – and are consequently critical of yourself?
This is known as the Inner Critic or Tyrant.
The Inner Critic is a nagging voice that demands perfection 24/7, never offers congratulation or appreciation, exaggerates shortcomings, holds you responsible for every situation (whether or not you are), and delivers continuous scolding. The Critic cuts off access to the natural empathy of the heart, and separates you from what you love the most.
The good news is that you are not the only one who suffers from critical torment, and you can get free of its grip.
In this workshop you will learn how to work with the Inner Critic and minimize its power over you. Through self-compassion practices and employing mindful strategies, you can understand your Inner Tyrant and relate differently to it.
You will get:
Guided instruction in self-compassion practices, including meditation.
Inquiry exercises to enhance awareness and understanding of self-critical habits.
Evidence-based data on the science behind self-compassion.
Group dialogue and shared peer support.
A downloadable audio guided self-compassion meditation to keep.
$40 per person.
