Compassionate Listening

Compassionate Listening involves tuning into your body to gain a clearer understanding of the issues you are facing. Connecting to your senses provides a powerful approach that uncovers the underlying emotional and relational patterns that may be causing you stress and interfering with your growth potential.

Rooted in the work of Dr. Gabor Maté, Compassionate Listening combines elements of somatic experiencing, mindful inquiry, and peer counseling to create a safe and supportive space for deep exploration. The heart of this approach is compassion — both giving it to yourself and receiving it from me. Through gentle questioning and empathetic listening, I help you turn toward what is challenging — your subconscious beliefs, core traumas, and emotional wounds — to understand how they are operating and how you can become free of their dominance over your well-being.

By listening to your body’s messages you gain insight and begin to heal. This process of self-discovery and transformation cultivates a deeper sense of self-compassion and ultimately moves you toward a more authentic and fulfilling life.

Amy’s unique offering of Compassionate Listening has provided support that is far broader than intellectual understanding or somatic ease. Her grounded presence, guided thinking, and open heart has provided a safe container for deep healing and integration. Older stored patterns of imbalance, faulty beliefs, and stressful reactivity have alchemized into a renewed sense of wholeness, connection, and well-being. This is healing in the truest sense and has been the simplest yet most profound restorative work I have explored. Thank you, Amy! – Alexis M.
