Four Ways to Love: Meditations to Open the Heart

  • Way Opens Wellness 124 South Bell Avenue Yardley, PA, 19067 (map)

What would your life look like if everyone was more loving?

Which feels better: ill will or kindness? fear or caring? envy or joy? overwhelm or balance?

What if learning to love yourself and others was simple, enjoyable, and possible?

Four Ways to Love is a short online course in the brahmaviharas, the four prized emotions or mindstates that give us a framework to cultivate positive behaviors and minimize harmful ones. In Buddhist tradition they are called the “divine abodes” because they are the mindstates in which all enlightened ones reside. They are also known as the “four immeasurables” or “four limitless ones” because they represent love and goodwill toward all sentient beings, without exception or limit.

Doesn’t that sound nice?

Through meditation and discussion, we will explore one type of love each week:

April 20 - Kindness (metta)

April 27 - Compassion (karuna)

May 4 - Sympathetic Joy (mudita)

May 11 - Equanimity (upekkha)

Conscious embodied meditation will be our primary vehicle for learning, as we discover and deepen our capacity to manifest these states.

You will get:

·       Audio recordings of the four brahmavihara meditations, yours to keep

·       A weekly half-hour check-in and Q&A session with Amy

·       The benefit of group learning in real time (hint: the teacher’s not the only expert!)

·       Class recordings in case you miss a week

·       A more open, sensitive heart and a calmer mind

You can take a single class, or register for the full course and save 25%!

Get a sneak peek about the first kind of love we will explore - loving-kindness, or metta - in this short video, What Is Metta?
