Mindfulness for Anxious Times

Life is difficult. It’s not easy being a human being, and right now we feel extra challenged by the uncertainty of current conditions. Even without the threat of COVID-19, we never really know how our lives will play out, we just think we do. But with the added stress of fundamental structural change, we understandably fall back on old habits and the patterns that no longer serve us.

How do we meet uncertainty as opportunity? Much of the time, what disturbs us is not so much the events that happen, but rather the way we relate to them, resulting in more suffering. So it’s wise to develop skills that can meet the situation and make living easier and less painful, rather than falling into automatic reactions and getting stuck in the stories being told by the mind.

In this live online class, we will explore the ways we are feeling and the thoughts we are thinking, discover how we habitually respond, and learn ways to relate to the heart-mind that cultivate acceptance, curiosity, and care. Using whole body listening, meditation, and discussion, we will practice simple methods for meeting both the external and internal demands of daily living.

You will receive:

  • Mindfulness training to handle pain and overwhelm

  • Methods to gather attention and maintain focus

  • An audio guided meditation for home practice

  • A video recording of the class to keep

This class would typically be priced at $40 or more, but given the limits on contact and the resulting financial strain faced by many, I am offering this on a pay-what-you-can basis, with a suggested minimum contribution of $20.*

You will receive a link to gain access to the Zoom meeting when you sign up.

*If you can pay more without difficulty, thank you for your generosity. If the minimum is not possible for you at this time, please join one or more of the free online sessions currently being offered.
